To start the full tour at stop #1:

Take the Metro Red Line to the Judiciary Square station and leave through the exit at the north end of the platform designated “F Street and National Building Museum”. At the top of the escalator you will see The National Building Museum (formerly the Pension Building) on F Street, between 4th and 5th Streets, N.W.

You will be walking two miles over about two hours. The walk ends near the McPherson Square Metro station (Orange and Blue Lines).

To start an abbreviated tour at stop #7, you have two options:

Take Metro to Metro Center station. From the Red Line’s platform to Glenmont-bound trains, find and leave through the exit at 12th Street and F Street. Walk on 12th Street downhill (south), for one block to E Street and then turn right (west), for 1.5 blocks to Freedom Plaza in front of the National Theatre. — Or — Take Metro to Federal Triangle station. At the top of the only exit, bear right and then turn right and walk between the buildings. Cross Pennsylvania Avenue and step up to Freedom Plaza in front of the National Theatre.

You will be walking one mile over about 1-1/4 hours. The walk ends near the McPherson Square Metro station (Orange and Blue Lines).
